Make an Egg Carton Bumble Bee

We all tend to have an abundance of egg cartons around the house, why not recycle them into cute crafts.  These little bumble bees are easy to make and are great attached to a mobile, used in imaginative play or as a party decoration.

What you will need...  An Egg Carton, Craft Glue, Yellow Paint, Paint Brush, Scissors, Black Permanent Marker, 2 x 5mm Googly Eyes, 1 x Black Pipe Cleaner, 1 x 2.5cm Fluffy Black Ball, Black Paper. 

Tip...You can substitute the fluffy ball, pipe cleaners and googly eyes with black and white paper for a look which is just as good.

Step One... Using your scissors carefully cut out two egg cups from your egg carton as shown

Step Two... Using your yellow paint, grab a paint brush and paint your egg cups

Step Three... While you are waiting for your egg cups to dry, cut out the wings and stinger as shown.  This piece of black paper is 10x6 cm unfolded. Wing end up being approx 4.5cm high and 8cm wide. Tip... If you fold your paper in half as shown you wings will be symmetrical.

Step Four... Using your craft glue stick the black paper wings to the painted egg cup as shown

Step Five... Once you have secured the wings, you can glue the second painted egg cup on to form the bumble bee bodyStep Six... With your black permanent marker add the bumble bee stripes

Step Seven... Using your craft glue attach the bees stinger

Step Eight... Prepare your black pipe cleaner antlers by cutting two 2cm pieces and bending them as shown

 Step Nine... Using your craft glue, stick the fluffy black ball, googly eyes and antlers on

 Step Ten... you are finished!
